Valais ski area boasts mountains such as the Matterhorn, Allalinhorn and Mont Blanc, and is famed for resorts such as Zermatt, Saas Fee, Crans Montana and Anzere all offering good quality high altitude skiing. It is also one of the sunnier domains in the Swiss ski area and is home to numerous picturesque villages. The Aletsch Glacier, the largets in Switzerland, can also be found in the Valais domain. These resorts all offer excellent apres-ski, with lively bars and cabarets where visitors can sample alpine culinary specialties, such as cheese fondues and raclettes, whilst enjoying a warming glass of mulled wine.
