On the borders of the Ocean, LIT et MIXE is situated 20km south of Mimizan, 42km from Dax and 50km north of Hossegor. This small traditional village was built at the entrance to a large pine forest (10850ha) and offers modern installations in a picturesque setting. The beach is 7km away: 'Cap de l'Homy' (supervised) or Yons (non supervised).
IN and AROUND LIT et MIXE: The area is delimited by 3 steeples: Mixe church in the south, surrounded by its cemetery, the small chapel at Cap de l'Homy and Litchurch with its 4 trumpet-playing angels at the top. The 'Vieilles Landes' museum showing how life used to be in the area in the 19th century. Market in the village square every morning.
OTHER ACTIVITIES A number of cyclable paths are at your disposition, one of which goes north all the way the to Aureilhan lake near Mimizan and south towards Meon to Courant d'Huchet.
Certain paths are reserved for mountain bikes. Admire the vast wetland of Plaine de Pigeon, where cows and horses roam free.
For those who are passionate about horse-riding, there are various centres which offer pleasant rides through the pine forrest.
For those who prefer walking, there are 55km of trails where you can appreciate the tranquility of the Landes forest. On the the Cap d'Homy route, there is a fitness trail and orientation paths
